Hangar 244: Feb/Mar 2009, a skating rink. Beyond that, a hangar for rent for special events!
The Great Park balloon as seen from Hangar 244.
One of my favorite shots of the day for Feb. 22. The sky was fantastic, a great day for flying - but alas, space was already booked! We'll have to fly another day!
These chunks were formerly from the runways. Recycling of the concrete continues.
Close of of the balloon gondola.
Inside the balloon visitors center, an overview map of the Great Park. Some day.

The balloon as seen from the parking lot.
Still in the restricted area, but Irvine PD was kind enough to let me take a few shots before I left.
Another angle of the balloon.
An amazing sky on this day. Rare in Southern California!
Two hawks, aerial courtship.
Detail of one of the hawks.
From another angle!
Runway 3, currently being used by RC plane clubs.
Relief - with a view!
The mighty T, to add a blob of color to the shot.
Water tank (?) and Saddleback.
Across the runways to the balloon.
Perhaps this block will end up in the park museum some day! It should.
Overview of the block.
Saddleback from MCAS El Toro. Yup, snow sprinkled on top.
Many of the facilities are being used on a temporary basis by small business and the like.
