My first visit to the NAMM show! I attended on Friday afternoon, day 2 of this 4 day show in Anaheim, California.
Demos like this were typical. Just steps away, there were two DJs 'scratching' on the latest equipment.
Typical aisle scene. Recall that this was Friday, and it's already crowded. Saturday and Sunday must be even more busy!
2010 NAMM Show
Such diversity across multiple halls and two levels.
Brilliant colors and folks dressed in everything to business suits, leather and spikes to fishnets, garters and pumps. What an amazing collection of people, all with a common interest - MUSIC!
No limits on what camera gear you could bring in, including tripods. But I'm glad I was shooting my point and shoot on this visit.
The percussion section was the loudest - Hmmmm, I wonder why. The exhibitors must go home at night with ringing in their ears.
This pair caught my eye as I passed by - the 'chefs' hat cracked me up. Eye catching so you give them a listen too, good thinking!
The northern end of the convention center is a smaller events arena with seating all around. Roland US was in this arena - quite a setup!
2010 NAMM Show - Roland US
Great drum kit demo!
Most exhibits were hands on for anyone to just jam.
Roland's setup included a very informative demo theater.
2010 NAMM Show - Very colorful, but quieter section of the show! Interested in a recorder?
Germany's booth to promote German music manufacturers. Interesting promotion.
This lad was either trying to be "too cool and disinterested", or he really was... Funny!
One of my favorite setups.
Kerry King (Slayer) was up next for a signing. The line was already wrapped around the booth.
Outdoor stage area within the center of the convention center.
Cakewalk by Roland demo.
LCD displays along the backboard there! I don't know what all of these buttons do, but they are so cool!
Older electronics that could be cross connected by visitors to produce very interesting sound!
The new Roland portable solution. This band was amped, but not plugged in! Hence, the "Battery Band"!
My favorite demo of the day. A true enthusiasm for the Octopad from Roland. I just may have to get one!
Outside stage area, north end of the convention center.
John Lennon lantern suspended between the trees of the outdoor area.
A view of the stage from behind the fountain.
Details on the John Lennon educational tour bus.
